The Young Playwrights Festival
The Young Playwrights Festival (June 3-27, 2010 at The Stella Adler Theater) is a nationwide play writing competition for writers 19 years and younger that culminates in a month-long festival. The 12 best plays in the nation are chosen by a panel of theatre professionals from submissions by teenage playwrights. Each winning writer is assigned a mentor (professional writer) who helps the teen writers shape their scripts for the stage. Then a professional director and actors bring the piece to life in public performances of each play. There are no submission fees for this program.
