HEAD: A Symphony of Horror! is an original pop/rock adaptation of the 1962 film The Brain that Wouldn’t Die. It was the top-seller at the 2009 Phoenix Fringe Festival, where crowds were turned away when no more seats could be squeezed into the venue. This irreverent send-up of ‘B’ horror movies features bubble-gum pop with a twisted, punky edge, and gut-splitting camp. The plot is simple: A car crash leaves Jan decapitated and in a foul mood. Her mad scientist fiancé keeps her head alive on a table, prowling the underworld in search of a body while Jan develops psychic powers and a thirst for revenge!
Fans of alternative favorites like Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Evil Dead: The Musical, Batboy: The Musical, Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical, and that naughty ilk won’t want to miss HEAD: A Symphony of Horror!
